The Envy of the Average-Sized Penis

Why Measure Your Penis Size and What to Measure?

There are many reasons to measure the size of your penis. The first reason is that you will get to know the size of your penis, and it will remove your doubt on whether your penis size is OK or not.

*All individuals are unique. Your results can and will vary.

Secondly, it will raise the level of your confidence when you are in your bed with your partner. The study shows that the size of your penis may not impact much on the sexual performance; however, most of the women do prefer a reasonable penis size, so size does matter.

Even when you’re going out to buy a condom for you, knowing the size of your will help you choose the right size of the condom while purchasing it. It reduces the chance of condom splitting, and you will be more comfortable while putting on a condom.

Most of the people think of the length of the penis while discussing the size of the penis. Yes, the length of the penis is important, but they’re missing out on one important measurement, and i.e. the circumference of the penis. You need to accurately measure both length and circumference of your penis.

Erect Girth

But.. let us not forget about girth. If anything, girth is the more impactful of dimensions, versus length. CalcSD's dataset points to the average penis measuring 11.5 cm / 4.5 inches in circumference at its thickest point, which gives us an average range of 10.8-12.1 cm / 4.3-4.8 inches covering the middle 40% of dicks.

Extrapolating out again from that point, we can define the range of girths.

Accurate girth data is especially important for proper condom sizing, as those are sized based on the dick's thickness, not length.

Is My Penis Too Small?

Most likely not.

Chances are you’re average or close enough to it that it won’t make any difference to any sexual partner.

Studies have shown that penis size matters more to the penis owner than to partners. One study on male body image found that penis size was a concern for 68.3% of 200 men.

Another study that surveyed about 25,000 heterosexual men23 AND their female partners, found that 85% of the women were satisfied with their man’s penis size. But only 55% of the men felt the same way.

A research article published in the International Journal of Impotence Research24 measured and interviewed men seeking penile lengthening surgery.

That particular study showed:

  • Almost all of the men overestimated ‘normal’ penile length;
  • 15% had no idea of what a ‘normal’ penile length was;
  • All participants’ penis measurements were within the normal range;
  • And 71.7% were reassured about their normal size after explanation.

Still, Concerned About Your Penis Size?

There is one thing wishing you had an extra few inches to play with, and then there is “Small Penis Anxiety”, often called Small Penis Syndrome (SPS) or penile dysmorphic disorder (PDD). It is a form of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), in the same way, anorexia is.

In the same way, a person with anorexia is NOT overweight but believes themselves to be, men suffering from SPS do NOT have a small penis but are overly anxious about their size.

This anxiety can adversely affect their everyday life and relationships in substantial ways, cause much distress, and even depression.

If you find yourself obsessing over your penis size, then your first step is not going under the knife but simply talking to the right people. Speak to your GP about some counseling and therapy.

What is the reality of penis size?

The chart below are how the statistics fall. This is a distribution chart. It has no y axis because it’s already understood that a higher y value represents a greater incidence of that x value. The x axis maps to bone pressed erect length.

The average is 14 centimeters. You can see that the range of penises generally includes everyone somewhere between 8 centimeters and 20 centimeters. Outside of this range are extremely rare outliers. You can see that the standard deviation is pretty tight at ~1.78 centimeters. You can see that plus or minus one standard deviation covers the lengths between 12.7 and 15.2 centimeters. This range of plus or minus one standard deviation covers 68% of the population. Think about that. Almost 70% of men have a penis between 12.5 and 15 centimeters, bone pressed.

Plus or minus 2 standard deviations covers 95% of

Plus or minus 2 standard deviations covers 95% of men. Think about that. How many men do you know? How many men do you meaningfully interact with in the course of a normal week? You’d have to look around to find a man who is the 1 in 20 who falls outside of that range of 10.4 centimeters to 17.5 centimeters. On reflection, 95% of men are inside of 10.2 to 17.8 centimeters.

Plus or minus 3 standard deviations covers 99.7% of men. You would have to search for a long time to find a man who is the 1 in 335 men who falls outside that range of 8.6 centimeters to 19.3 centimeters. And that’s on either side of that range. If you wanted to find a man who was on the large side, you would cut the probability in half; you’d be looking for the 1 in 666 men who is larger than 19.3 centimeters.

Let’s do it again for girth

The average erect girth is 11.7 centimeters. You c

The average erect girth is 11.7 centimeters. You can see that the range of girths generally includes everyone somewhere between 7 centimeters and 16.5 centimeters. Outside of this range are extremely rare outliers. You can see that the standard deviation is even tighter at ~1.52 centimeters. You can see that plus or minus one standard deviation covers the girths 10.2 and 13.2 centimeters. This range of plus or minus one standard deviation covers 68% of the population. About 70% of men have a girth between 10 centimeters and 13 centimeters.

Plus or minus 2 standard deviations covers 95% of men. You’d have to look around to find a man who is the 1 in 20 who falls outside of that range of 8.6 centimeters to 14.7 centimeters.

Plus or minus 3 standard deviations covers 99.7% of men. You would have to search for a long time to find a man who is the 1 in 335 men who falls outside that range of 7.1 centimeters to 16.3 centimeters. And that’s on either side of that range. If you wanted to find a man who was on the thick side, you’d be looking for the 1 in 666 men who is thicker than 16.3 centimeters.

Inoculation Is A Key Step In Learning How To Grow Penis Envy Mushrooms

Once you learn how to grow Penis Envy Mushrooms using collected or purchased spores, the next step is inoculation. Here, you’ll introduce the Penis Envy spores to your chosen substrate in hopes of producing thriving mycelium.

Penis Envy spores don’t contain chlorophyll and thus don’t need light for photosynthesis. They consume dead organic matter like leaves and animals for the nutrients they need to germinate.

The variety of mushrooms dictates the most suited material as each variant grows in different substrates. Suitable materials for a substrate range from sawdust, straw, wooden plugs, to whole grains.

Although Penis Envy mushrooms can be grown on birthing cakes (not well though), they’re best suited using a bulk application.

Blending together the Penis Envy Mushrooms spores and the nutrients provided by the suited substance is known as the spawn—the key to allowing the mycelium to develop. The mycelium is the fungus from which mushrooms emerge during fruiting.

When the spawn is mixed with a substrate, fruiting can be more vigorous and mushrooms are more plentiful.

Penis Envy mushrooms grow slower than other members of their species and take longer to fruit. But this unique characteristic also allows the Penis Envy fruiting bodies to develop more psilocybin than faster-growing strains.

The Penis Envy varieties also tend to pull out of the substrate much easier than other strains. This trait prevents you from having to decimate the casing or substrate when pulling out a large flush.

Growth Parameters are the same for Penis Envy Mushrooms as any P. Cubensis strain, but harvesting can prove to be a little bit different.

How?

Unlike other strains, the Penis Envy Mushroom cap breaking their veil doesn’t indicate that they’re ready to harvest yet. Instead, once the veil is torn, it’s recommended to wait at least 3 to 5 days before harvesting.

Penis Envy Cultivation Terminology

As with any hobby or field of study, mushroom cultivation has its own vernacular. The majority of this vernacular is the same across most mushroom species—although different species feature distinct anatomical differences. The following terms and phrases are useful to know when cultivating mushrooms:

Penis Envy Pins

To start, there’s nothing special to say about Penis Envy pins. The term “pins” is not unique to Penis Envy mushrooms—it’s an abbreviation of the term “pinhead,” which cultivators use to describe the small and earliest visible mushroom formations.

Penis Envy Blobs

One particular quirk of Penis Envy is its tendency to grow “blobs” instead of pinsas the mushrooms first begin to appear. Blobs are malformed bits of mushroom tissue. Blobbing tends to happen more commonly in early flushes. Many growers have had success with using a casing layer to prevent blobs from emerging. However, the blobs themselves are not harmful and can actually be quite potent, so fret not: They’re more of an aesthetic problem than a grow-stopper.

Penis Envy Spores

Penis Envy is unique as each mature mushroom cap produces very few spores. Although prints can be made, these tend to be very faint resulting in weak spore syringes. Growers can also use swabs to transfer spores directly from the mushrooms to sterile agar plates, then start their grow project from there. Penis Envy spores are currently legal to purchase for microscope purposes in many regions. But, as mentioned above, cultivation is only decriminalized in select locations.

Penis Envy Mushroom Summary

Penis Envy mushrooms have a long and confused history, and there’s undoubtedly more to learn about this human-cultivated mutant mushroom. With its unique characteristics and popularity in mushroom growing communities, it’s definitely a mushroom that’s worth adding to your grow list. If you are located in a decriminalized region and decide to consume these mushrooms, it’s important to remember they may be more quite potent. So, starting with a low dose and remaining mindful of set and setting can go a long way.
